The beautiful & unique cultural heritage of Odisha has within a span of over 60 years of regeneration attracted &inspired both art lovers as well as artists all over the world. A large number of dancers from different parts of the world have been drawn towards Odissi like bees to honey.

We among the dancers fraternity feel responsible for both patronizing as well as encouraging this unprecedented enthusiasm of the world to this unique art from keeping this in view, the dance institution SUPREETAM founded by guru Samir Kumar Behera has conceived a dance festival by the name of ‘’RAJA MAUJA ‘’to be awarded to a renowned & deserving artist who has hidden talented of dance, music, and social work for his/her lifelong contribution to bringing Odissi to the limelight through unflinching devotion, dedication & perseverance.Guru Prafulla Chandra was the contuse artist of dance, music lover, and the hero role model of Jatra party& also served the society by twice time winner Sarapanch and took party president responsibility for his whole lifetime. Father Kartick Chandra Behera were the common place people in those black & white days. Guru Prafulla was a reputed teacher in primary school who wrote many books, magazine, story, and a Devotee       of Alekha Mahima and deputized as the owner of Jatra party under whom more than 150 people worked.

Guru Samir kumar along with a group of artists, connoisseurs & lovers of art have taken this bold &emphatic step in planning & processing of such an ambitious project keeping in view to patronizing as well as rewarding artist of ‘’Guru Prafulla Behera Award’’ who has the parity of Odissi, Music, Art and social work not merely as a profession but as a sadhana which requires years of dedication, devotion & sacrifices.
